July 4, 2011

I can hardly believe that I am the mother of a seven year old.  I am so thankful for that girl.  She has taught me so much about God without ever intending to do it.

She is such a smart little girl.  Joshua and I see her servant's heart and her strong leadership skills.  She so badly wants to be a mommy.  I am so honored that she would want to do that.  I know that God has amazing plans for her and I pray that I am not a stumbling block to her.  I pray she comes to know Jesus as her personal savior and loves Him more than anything this world has to offer.

For her seventh birthday she was excited to spend it at Maw Maw and Paw Paw's house.  She had three requests...pizza, popsicles and the pool (she got pop-tarts for breakfast too).  It started raining the morning of her birthday.  I'm not sure it had rained all summer.  :)  But it cleared off and we were able to swim.   All of our family helped to make it a special time and Maw Maw added lots of thoughtful things like ballons with her name on them and special plates and napkins and all the things Maw Maw does to make things so special.  I'm so thankful for this day of memories and look forward to many, many more birthdays with my little Independence Day girl.
I think Drake liked his popsicle.
Seth having a fun time with fireworks.
Luke's first time jumping off the diving board.  Jacob, Uncle Jeremy and Uncle Blake were cheering him on.  His daddy is waiting for him in the pool.
Sweet Baby Drake
Seth had a really fun time playing with Mason.
Cousins
Seth, Brooke, Mason, Luke, Jacob and Drake
When I asked Brooke what her favorite thing about her birthday was she said it was the presents.
Joshua and Jacob
Uncle Chris and Brooke
Seth's playing G.I. JOE.  Pretty intimidating, huh?
Watching some baseball with Maw Maw.
It might not be a good idea for a daddy to play baseball with his son's t-ball bat.
Luke and his picture face.
Brooke picked out a Funfetti cake mix with icing that had sprinkles and she requested that Aunt Kendra make it for her.
Aunt Kendra made it very cute!
We got to spend a week in Arkansas at Maw Maw and Paw Paw's house.
We had a really fun time swimming.
I got invited to eat cake with this crew.  What a privilege!

Tonight when I prayed with Brooke I prayed for the man she will marry.  Afterward she was worried that since she is homeschooled she doesn't know any boys.  I told her that life wouldn't always be like it is now.  I didn't meet her daddy until college.  She said she wished Seth and Luke weren't her brothers so she could marry one of them.
