December 6-Christmas Party Given for International Students at the University

Unfortunately, Joshua had a lecture to attend and was unable to come to the party.  The kids and I had a really fun time.  Santa Claus gave every child a bag of nice chocolates-wow!

The kids were so excited to get their face painted.  Maybe it's the first time they have got to do this.  It was free of course.  The whole evening was a gift.
One butterfly and two wolves.
There was typical German cuisine, which I really like (brats with bread and kartoffelpuffers which are basically round deep fried hashbrowns, pizza  and crepes for dessert (which my spell check changed to creeps for dessert-ha!)
The President of the University spoke briefly and said there are students from70 different countries attending the University.  The man standing on the left is the President of International Affairs and the lady with blonde hair standing in the middle is the mayor of Göttingen there to welcome us.  They all spoke in English.  Many classes at the University are taught in English.  I have realized how thankful we should be that we know English.
These ladies were responsible for the party and for welcoming International students.  Heidi in the center in the purple coat has helped us.  She found our apartment to live in, met with us after we arrived and went over all of our paperwork of what we needed to do, she helped us get our resident's permit which you have to obtain to live here for 1 year.  She has been fabulous.  This would have been a much, much more difficult experience without her.
