December 7-Sababurg-The Sleeping Beauty Castle

We took a bus and then we took another bus and then one more bus to get here.  It really seems to be in the middle of nowhere, but how am I to know?  This castle is called The Sababurg or The Sleeping Beauty Castle.  It is also a hotel so you could actually sleep in this castle and it had a very nice restaurant.
This is the only chevron pattern I think I have seen during our time in Germany.

This picture is looking back as we walked along the wall beside the castle.
The Tierpark Sababurg is an animal park located right beside the castle.  There is sometimes a small train you can ride through the park to see the animals.
The kids were pretty excited to find some snow on the ground.

This day they were having a Medieval Christmas Market.  We had no idea this was going to be taking place.  There were booths set up so you could buy things and the vendors were dressed the part.

This was a puppet show.  The frames of his glasses were made from wood and held on with string.  They were so funny.
The kids even participated in the German puppet show.  They saw that you got a piece of candy for participating.  Will work for food!
These are some of the animals we saw as we walked through the park.

This was so neat.  They dug a trench and stuck these branches in the ground to form this-very impressive.  There were more branches on the ground so I think they will add more to it.
A lady performed a magic show, complete with putting fire in her mouth.
A very active and fat raccoon.
