November-Out and About in Göttingen

While Jim and Mary Beth visited us we spent some time showing them around Göttingen.
We walked to the Schillerwiese which is a park close to our apartment.

The Farmer's Market is in the inner city and is open every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.  I will miss being able to shop there.  We were buying apples and pears.
There are always pretty flowers at the Farmer's Market.
An old and pretty church.  There are predominantly Catholic and Lutheran churches.
Each city in Germany was once surrounded by a city wall and had a gate.  This is where the former gate to enter the city was located.
The famous Cron and Lanz Bakery.
Their treats are beautiful and delicious.  It sometimes seems that we are experiencing things from a movie.
Another picture in the Schillerwiese Park.
This picture is in the forest.  Our apartment is located at the very edge of this forest.
There is water running along the city street.
We have been told this is the best restaurant in Gottingen to eat schnitzel. Schnitzel is a boneless meat, thinned with a meat tenderizer, coated with flour, eggs and bread crumbs and then fried.  It was delicious!  We had to make reservations to be able to eat there during the week in November.  They said they have no openings on the weekends until after the new year.
A close-up view.  I ordered schnitzel covered with cheese, peppers and mushrooms.
